By learning these powerful Excel keyboard shortcuts for selecting cells, rows and columns you can drastically improve your productivity.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  1. Select multiple cells from a starting cell
  2. Select from starting cell to end of row/column to the next empty or full cell

or * = Hold this key down while tapping the white keys in sequence indicated.

= Tap this key(s) in sequence indicated (if there is more than one) whilst holding down the grey key.

Select current cell PLUS 1 cell in the direction of the arrow key.

SHIFT* + Arrow Keys

Select multiple cells using the keyboard only
After SHIFT* + Down Arrow

Select from current cell to end of column/row

until the next empty cell or full cell is reached, depending on whether you started from an empty or full cell.
