How to find number of sales, sales value and average sale by supplier

When you are having a review with a supplier, it is very useful to be armed with all the relevant data.

  • Are you selling enough of their products to warrant retaining them?
  • Alternatively, are you selling so many that you want to talk about discounts?

Working Data clients are able to pull out this information with a single click using their bespoke software. If you have not yet made this improvement in your business, you can compile some of the information manually. Download our Free Sales By Supplier Spreadsheet Tool which is explained below.

Sales By Supplier Spreadsheet Tool

In Spreadsheet Data 1, we see Sales By Supplier tool when it is first opened. There are three sections. Products & Suppliers, Last Month's Sales and Sales by Supplier. Some cells are green and others are white. You should only enter data into the green cells. The white cells contain the formulas. If you happen to write over the white cells by mistake, you can re-download the tool.

Spreadsheet Data 1

The first section to complete is the Products & Suppliers section, as in Spreadsheet Data 2. Here we enter Product, the Supplier and the Price you sell that product for.

Next, we enter the last month's sales. Remember to only enter data into the green cells. So, you need only enter Date, Product and Quantity, as in Spreadsheet Data 3.

Spreadsheet Data 3

The formulas in the white cells calculate the Supplier, Unit Price and Total for you. Finally, we complete the Sales By Supplier section. In this section, we need only enter the name of the Supplier, as in Spreadsheet Data 4.

Spreadsheet Data 4

The formulas in the white cells automatically calculate No of Sales, Value of Sales and Average Sale. Spreadsheet Data 5 shows the completed Sales by Supplier Tool.
